This is not a full review or anything, but I felt the need to post some complimentary words regarding the new "Justice League" series that airs on Cartoon Network. Since its inception, I've been more than impressed at the level of quality it displays--both with respect to story development, AND animation.
The series manages to keep getting better, as well. Earlier, I was able to catch the two part episode entitled "The Terror Beyond," and I have to say it quite possibly the best I've seen so far. The episode incorporated Dr. Fate, Solomon Grundy, and the new, more engaging Aquaman character. The ending has remarkable emotional power for a cartoon.
My only complaints regarding the Justice League series are minimal: First of all, they portray the Flash as comic relief, and way too silly. I realize this version of the Flash (Wally West) is the youngest of the group, but he's not a complete idiot in the comics. Secondly, I'm a little surprised the writers bowed to political correctness by including the John Stewart incarnation of the Green Lantern because of his ethnic diversity, as well as their inclusion of Hawkgirl in order to feature a second female character. These are minor quibbles, however, and most episodes tend to make you forget them.
Do yourself a favor--try catching the new Justice league when it's on. If you're a fan of the old comics, a fan of the Batman or Superman animated series, or even just a fan of good cartoons, you'll find something to like about it.
