Billy and Mandy Pick Up the Slack
If you're like me--and you should be so lucky--you watch an unhealthy amount of Cartoon Network. If you're even MORE like me, you're upset with the current crop of cartoons now attempting to fill the "zany, kid-like" genre on the channel--namely the new "Dexter's Laboratory" and the unwatchable "Kids Next Door." With people like Genndy Tartakovsky obsessed with self-indulgent projects like "Samurai Jack," it's obvious that someone new is going to have to pick up the slack.
Fortunately, a new cartoon has emerged as the clear frontrunner for this cause, and that's "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy." The premise? A conistently dissaffected girl and her lovably moronic friend trick the Grim Reaper into living with them as their best freind. You take it from there. The show is basically a mix of "Ren and Stimpy" stylings, old-school "Dexter" fun, and a touch of "Two Stupid Dogs" silliness.
Maybe sometime in the future, I'll do a full-fledged review. For now, make a mental note of this cartoon, and catch it when you get a chance--you may be glad you did.
