The "NEW" Dexter's Laboratory sucks.

This used to be a fantastic cartoon... Chock full of humor for adults and kids alike, great stories, and memorable characters. In short, this was my favorite cartoon.

Unfortunately, the show went out of production a couple of years ago. Due to an overwhelming response, the show has gone BACK into production. This should be a good thing, right? WRONG!

The show is now in the hands of a new producer (Chris Savino), and as a result, all the magic of the classic Dexter is gone. Apparently, Genndy Tartakovsky (The creator of the show) has felt that this show is now below him. He has moved on to devote his time to creating new episodes of that self-indulgent snooze-fest called "Samurai Jack."

What's so bad about the new Dexter's Lab, you might ask?

1) The stories are dull and joyless. Instead of fun stories about Dexter retrieving his sister's stuffed bear from a junkyard, we instead must sit through a story about Dexter having a problem keeping his outfit clean. Yawn.

2) There are too many DULL stories focusing on satellite characters in the show. Now, each half hour can include a "dad" cartoon, or a "mandark" cartoon. These suck. One cartoon that particualrly fried my brain was one in which we see how Dexter's mom and dad met. If you ever catch this one, try NOT to take a blowtorch to your TV.

3) The voices have changed. Dexter and Dee Dee are no longer voiced by the voice actors we grew to love. Instead, we have actors doing poor imitations. What's worse is, to make these imitations WORK, the voice actors have to EXAGGERATE the voices. In other words, Dexter yells alot more in teh new episodes, because if he were to speak quietly, we could tell the voice actors suck. We can all hear the difference, Cartoon Network. What happened? Did you run out of budget? Are you unable to sign the previous actors to a new contract??

4) The art sucks. It used to be colorful and fun. Now, it's a load of "look-at-me" impressionistic rejects from Samurai Jack. Why? The show looked fine before. Even the character models have changed. they kinda look like ultra-clean vector art you find on the web.

A word of advice: If you're watching Dexter's Lab, and you see Chris Savino's name featured prominently, tune out.

The old ones were, and still are, the best.
